VIDEO: Chevrolet Camaro GT4 Rolls, and Rolls, and Rolls...


Dutch Supercar Challenge champion in the GT class 2010, Alex van 't Hoff, was involved in an unfortunate but rather spectacular to look at accident while racing his Chevrolet Camaro GT4 at the Circuit Park Zandvoort in The Netherlands.

We’re not sure how he lost control of the beefed up Camaro GT4 but in the video that follows after the break you can see what the result was. Despite the severity of the crash, Alex van 't Hoff came out of the car by himself, and from what we can tell, without suffering any injuries.

GM Confirms 6-Speed Automatic for 2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1


On the occasion of the Canadian debut of the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and 45th Anniversary Special Edition at the Camaro Homecoming event at the Oshawa Assembly Plant, GM confirmed that a 6-speed automatic transmission will be offered alongside the previously announced 6-speed manual gearbox for the top-end ZL1 model.

The Detroit automaker said it will provide “further product and timing details” on the automatic model closer to the ZL1’s launch in the beginning of 2012.

Chevrolet Shows How it Tests the 2011 Camaro Convertible’s Top


A new video from General Motors gives us an insight on how its engineers test the durability of the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible’s soft-top. The company said that during the development phase, the electrically operated tops of the prototype models were opened and closed more than 22,500 times, which is claimed to be three times more than what an average driver would do in 10 years of use. GM added that some of those tests were performed in extreme weather conditions with temperatures ranging from minus-22° F to 170° F and humidity of up to 95 percent. Read more »

GM Celebrates 100 Years of Chevrolet and Indy 500


America's most famous race, the Indianapolis 500, celebrates its 100th anniversary this year and so does Chevrolet, whose name was tied to the “Brickyard” from the very beginning. Arthur Chevrolet competed in the inaugural Indy 500 on May 30 1911, a few months before founding the company that bears his name, on November 3 the same year. Today, Chevrolet and Indy 500 are still together, with the Camaro SS Convertible to be the 22nd Chevrolet to pace the Indy 500 race on May 29 as a common celebration for their 100-year anniversary.
